Wednesday the 20th of May
Today the school gave out free hot chocolate in the quad for all of the senior school students. The year 12s played music which could be heard throughout the school. The sun was shining and the breeze was fresh. As I watched from the balcony I could see girls dancing and laughing. It was like a montage from a film. You know the kind… where all of a sudden someone is just walking down the street and it’s an ordinary day and then they break into song and all of the people in the street know the exact same dance moves to that song… yeah so it was a bit like that. I had that moment where I thought ‘so this is what the prefect school looks like’.
At the moment I’m just in the thick of lesson planning for next week. It seems to be going ok. I have a clear plan in my head for the year 8s and the year 10s. I have no idea what I’m going to do for the year 11s. I’m terrified about teaching the year 11s.
Tomorrow I’m going to an all day French conference at Saint Peters school with the South Australian French Teachers Association.. So needless to say I feel pressed for time. I’m looking forward to the conference. I think that I’ll learn a lot, and get to meet some new people. Also my mentor (Nelly) will be presenting there, so that will be really cool.
